School House Children’s Day Nursery is set in an idyllic location in Billinge, Blackburn. We first opened our doors in 1992 and since then our aim has been to support the local community and provide high quality childcare that will help your child thrive emotionally, physically, and academically - enabling your child to become a happy and confident individual, well prepared for their transition to school and eager to learn.
Our highly qualified and experienced team are dedicated to providing a variety of learning and fun activities for your child, following the Early Years Foundation stage framework. As professionals we understand that listening tothe children is paramount and it is by listening to their wants and needs that we tailor our learning experiences to meet every individual child.
Our team develops a close liaison with all parents from the very first visit, and it is through this relationship that we can ensure the needs of every child are met.

Meet the Team
“Hello I’m Amy Alberts”
Hello, I am Amy Alberts. I am the Manager at School House Nursery. I have worked in children care for over 8 years. My experience has been gained from working with ages from 0 to 5 years and also through my BA hons degree in Education and Inclusion.
During the time I have been with the company, I have worked my way through the nursery, starting as a Baby Room Leader, 2-3 Room Leader, on to a floor manager and then on to manager.
I believe that throughout the setting my strong leadership and management skills, along with my passion and commitment drive the team here and their practice. Ensuring that each child is cared for and educated to the best of their ability, whilst having lots of fun and new experiences with in the setting.
I believe that the team at School House Nursery are outstanding and ensure that every child’s individual needs are at the heart of everything we do within the setting
“Hello I’m Chelsea Taylor”
Hello, I am Chelsea Taylor. I am the Floor Manager at School House Nursery. I have worked in children care for over 10 years. My experince has been gained from working with children ages 0-5 years and through gaining my Early Years Teacher Status
I work predominantly in the rooms with the staff working with the children, developing staff's teaching practice with my experience.
I believe that all children deserve outstanding teaching, whilst enjoying themselves. Ensuring all teaching is through play. With myself and Amy leading the experienced team at School House Nursery I believe each child leaves the setting, developed well, happy and prepared fully for school.

From Blackburn Town Centre:
From Centre bear right onto Preston New Road B6233/A677 for 1 mile. At mini-roundabout go straight across and through the traffic lights. After 200 metres turn left at Woodlands Pub onto Meins Road. You will find School House Nursery after approximately 300 metres on the rights.
From M6 Junction 31 at Tickled Trout roundabout proceed straight onto Preston New Road, A59 towards Blackburn for 5.6 miles. As you pass Beardwood Hospital & Schools on your right, turn right after that and before the Woodlands Pub onto Meins Road. You will find School House Nursery after approximately 300 metres on the rights.
